Schools, Colleges and Universities
Child Care, Schools, Colleges, Universities and Group Housing
Schools play a critical role in protecting the health of their students, staff, and the community from contagious diseases. Â On this page, you will find more information on preventing the flu, as well as, materials for schools.
Ask children, parents, and staff to:
- Cover their nose and mouth with a tissue when they cough or sneeze—have them throw the tissue away after use and wash their hands. If a tissue is not available, have them cover their mouth and nose with their sleeve, not their hand.
- Wash their hands often with soap and water, especially immediately after they cough or sneeze. If water is not near, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Avoid touching their eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread this way.
- Stay home when sick.Â
